It’s almost sweet summertime.
Whether it’s boating, pool days, or cooking out. It’s all about enjoying the summer heat with family and friends. So what better way to enjoy summer than drinking cocktails with your loved ones?
I have a fantastic cocktail to share, the Siesta. The reason I stumbled upon this fabulous drink is not because of the Siesta Key TV Series (which I am obsessed with the series and stunning Juliette Porter and her swimwear and apparel brand JMP The Label). Instead, the ingredients in this drink make it so unique and perfect for summer.
Tequila and grapefruit are the staples in this drink. Grapefruit is an inquired taste. My old roommate swore by grapefruits and their health benefits and would physically spoon out the grapefruit with a spoon. On the other hand, I could only eat a few pieces.
Below are the key benefits of grapefruit:
- Grapefruit contains a shit ton of water (stay hydrated, my loves) – Grapefruit is one of the highest water contents of any fruit, coming in at about 92% water.
- Grapefruit may speed weight loss (bye-bye stubborn belly fat) – Women who consume any amount of grapefruit or grapefruit juice weigh nearly 10 pounds less and have a 6% lower body mass index than their non-grapefruit-eating counterparts.
- Grapefruit may help pump up your immune system (stay away cold) – Grapefruit may not prevent a cold, but the vitamins inside may reduce your suffering or the duration of a cold.
